AWAKENING THE DAWN

Devotional Content:

King David knew the importance of prayer and had perfected the art of a lifestyle of worship.  Notice the scriptures today all speak of awakening the dawn.  Is it possible that the very sound of your voice, communing with your King in the morning, garners the attention of the dawn itself?  All of the beauty of the starry hosts singing their praise cannot compare to the resounding beauty of your voice ushering in the dawn of a new day. Every morning He listens for it. He longs for it. Your voice, one of billions ascending into the atmosphere, carries a unique sound only you can make. You have the power to set the order of your day before it even starts!

Notice David is speaking to his soul, which he often did.  Remember, your inner world is very real, it’s where the kingdom flows from.  You must learn to govern it rather than it governing you! If allowed, the wounds of your soul will always govern the response of your heart. Jesus said we must patiently learn to possess our own soul (Luke 21:19), so our heart stays free to respond to our King.

Psalm 143:8 (TPT) “Let the dawning of the day bring me revelation of Your tender, unfailing love.

Give me light for my path and teach me, for I trust in You”

What a magnificent prayer to start your day!  A revelation of His love.  That alone commands praise! Go ahead, ask Him to show you His love, you may need to wait and listen, get in touch with your inner world and His voice will become more defined.  Let your song, your sound, break free and awaken the dawn!

Have an Impactful Day!

Today’s Challenge:

  1. Ask Holy Spirit to show you if your soul is governing the response of your heart, holding your praise, peace and confidence hostage. Write down what He shows you and implement what He says to do.

  2. Set your faith to intentionally believe and expect that each dawn is bringing you a revelation of His love.  In fact, pray Psalm 143:8 as you fall asleep every night!

Prayer:

Jesus, I want to know more and more of Your love so whatever is standing in the way, show me. Let Your love draw me into the response You’re looking for.  I speak to my soul and command it to let go of wounds and offenses, disappointments and failures. Receive the divine exchange of love.  Soul, let go of my heart so it’s free to give and receive love.  Heart, forgive the soul and let peace have its way from the inside out. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
