Hang On! God's Going To Get You Out!
"...Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the delieverance of the Lord. The Egyptians (or the "problem") you see before you today, you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; You need only to be still." Exodus 14:13-14
So many times in life we are dealt blows that seem to knock us down in ways that discourage us from wanting to continue. In fact, some times the pain of certain situations make us feel so close to death that we may wish that we were. However, it is important that we don't give up on God before the fight is over. No matter what your situation may be telling you, know that it is not over. The truth of the matter is that God will always have the last word in your situation.
I once heard a story that taught me a valuable lesson and gave me a new perspective on experiencing pain. The story tells of a man that falls asleep at the wheel of his car and crashes. After flipping over several times, he found himself pint inside of a mangled pile of metal, in extreme pain. Uncertain of whether or not he would survive, he began to want to give up. However, in a moment of clarity the man was able to smile and gain hope from a thought God had just placed in his heart concerning the pain he was feeling. Despite his discomfort, he began to rejoice in the fact that if he was able to feel pain, then he was still alive. The simple truth was, as long as he had the ability to feel pain, he also had the ability to experience healing, restoration, and comfort. Just then he heard a voice say, "Hold on! We are going to get you out of their." Help had arrived!
So many times in life the devil tries to get us to focus so much on our pain that we overlook how God has sustained our lives through the pain and the help that is on the way. Know that God has not forgotten about you and He has already dispatched ministering and warring angels to deliver you. You need only to hang on!
Lord, help me to always remember that you love me and that you will never put more on me than I can handle. I thank You that you have not and will not ever leave me nor forsake me. I trust you to be who Your Word says that you are. You are my deliverer, my sustainer, my provider, my healer, and my Lord who fights my battles. In you alone do I put my trust. And I am fully persuaded that you will come through for me in every situation.
In Jesus' Name, Amen!
